Another round of AusAID students have graduated with flying colours! The eleven Swinburne students from East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Mongolia and Papua New Guinea – who studied a range of courses from TAFE to masters level – received their awards at a graduation ceremony held at the Camberwell Civic Centre in Melbourne on Tuesday 15 July. The celebrations continued with afternoon tea where graduates, staff, friends and families celebrated their achievements.

Homecoming honour for Laos graduates – June 2008
Swinburne graduates from Laos were acknowledged in a special presentation in Vientiane on Wednesday 25 June. Australian Ambassador to Laos, Dr Michele Forster, acknowledged their achievement in the inaugural ceremony organised by Vientiane College and the AusAID office in Laos.
Official guests present for the occassion included: Ms Manithda Sithimolada (Australian Development Scholarships Activity Manager), Mr Tim Napper (Second Secretary, Australian Embassy), Ms Manivanh Phoumavong (Australian Scholarships Education, Program Officer) and Mr Somnuck Kousonsavath (Deputy Director, Higher Education Department, Ministry of Education).

AusAID Student Farewell Lunch on 10 July 2006
Swinburne held an AusAID Student Farewell Lunch on 10 July.
The graduating AusAID students were from a variety of countries including Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Mozambique and Laos. Accompanied spouses and children of the ADS students were also invited. The lunch was also attended by Mr Harry Bowman from AusAID.
Bangladeshi Government Officials Graduation 23 June 2006
After three months of extensive disaster management training in Victoria, twenty Bangladeshi officials graduated from Swinburne. The graduation, held at Hawthorn Town Hall on Friday 23 June, was extra colourful with the formal regalia coupled with traditional Bangladeshi attire.
