Visas

study in Australia

Most international students who study in Australia do so with a student visa.

Student visas are issued by the Australian Government as part of the overseas student program. This program was developed to enable people who are not Australian citizens or Australian permanent residents to study in Australia.

The program is only available for study in registered courses offered by an Australian education provider who is certified by the Australian Government to offer courses to overseas students. Swinburne University has the necessary certification.

You can be granted a student visa only if you wish to undertake a registered course or part of a registered course.

Any person who is not an Australian resident may apply for a visa to study in Australia. You must obtain a student visa before you can commence a course at Swinburne.
