The International and Development Division of Swinburne University of Technology is led by the Pro Vice-Chancellor (International and Development) Mr Jeffrey Smart, and comprises the Divisional Secretariat, Swinburne International and National Recruitment, Marketing Services, International Partnerships and Quality, Commercial Services, and Alumni and Development.

The International and Development Division is responsible for leading the internationalisation and student recruitment activities of Swinburne University of Technology. This includes:
- leading University-wide policy and strategy development with regard to internationalisation, and establishing a culture of internationalisation
- supporting the development of a diverse range of international programs and projects, onshore and offshore
- diversifying and strengthening institutional linkages and alliances across all continents
- enhancing Swinburne’s international reputation in the communities in which the University operates
- supporting the academic divisions with regard to internationalisation of the curriculum, teaching and research across the University
- promoting and facilitating internationalisation of Swinburne staff.

Swinburne International and National Recruitment, led by the Director, Mr. Benjamin MacKenzie, is responsible for the recruitment, admission and support of all domestic and international onshore students; the recruitment of international students from all offshore markets; international student support and sponsored students; and Education Abroad (including the University’s student exchange program).

International Partnerships and Quality
International Partnerships and Quality, under the leadership of Director, Dr. Jim Garton, is responsible for international partnerships and agreements; the university-wide agreement process and review; transnational business development (including development of policy and procedures for the initiation, management and quality assurance of Swinburne’s transnational education and training); overall quality assurance and ISO responsibility for International and Development, and ESOS compliance.
